Paola Ossa is an award-winning queer Latinx writer and director based in Los Angeles, originally from Colombia. Her work has screened at prestigious festivals such as SXSW, Aesthetica, and HollyShorts, to name a few. Notably, she received a Directors Guild of America’s award for “Outstanding Directorial Achievement” for her film “Catalina” and she was a 2022 Sundance Ignite Finalist. Other projects include “Remember When,” starring Shakira Barrera from GLOW, and music videos she’s directed for Keke Palmer and Danna Paola.
Directing and being on set is truly where she thrives, even in the chaos of it all. She’s passionate about telling stories and experimenting with visuals in ways that challenge and engage audiences. With her unique queer Latinx perspective and a sharp eye for detail, Paola loves to push the boundaries of filmmaking while focusing on stories of marginalized communities and exploring the dynamics in relationships we have with those around us.
